LankaLIKE is a local brand which combines the colors and traditional designs of Sri Lanka beyond the local use only – the products are made to bring the “Sri Lanka feeling” to home – for your family and friends or for yourself.
All LankaLIKE products are handmade by local women, which have been trained by the local NGO Nature Volunteers Association. So, every purchase you do, will provide an income for those women and help to continue free vocational training projects. This way you can actively support the local women community.

Training & Production
LankaLIKE Fairtrade Cooperation partners with the local NGO Nature Volunteers Association (NVA), which provides free vocational training for local women and runs the different production units.

For an unforgettable time in Sri Lanka we provide a special services for our customers: custom tailoring & designing for individual needs, fast production and local delivery.
HANDLOOM WEAVING
LankaLIKE Fairtrade Cooperation produces its own handloom fabrics for bags, soft toys or other products in the NVA Handloom Training & Production Centre. Each weaving chair has a single, unique fabric, which is crafted with care and experience within several days. Every handloom piece is a masterpiece.
BATIKS
Batik is a traditional craft in Sri Lanka. The design is hand drawn on the fabric with wax. Then it is dyed in the color bath and washed in hot water to remove the wax. A fascinating, but hard work – as all steps have to be redone for each color.
CUTTING & SEWING
All raw material – handloom or batik fabric – comes to the sewing unit for its final step into a finished product, such as a bag, toy or pillow case. The fabric is cut and sewn from experienced women.

Our Locations
Lankalike Fairtrade Cooperation offers not only its products in the Sales Shop it opens also its doors to the training & production places to have a look to the different production steps – batik, handloom weaving or sewing. For individual orders or designs be welcome to come to the office. In the map below you can find each place.
Production Centre & Handicraft Shop
The training and production centre for our fabrics is in Kaluwamodara, Aluthgama. Come and have a look how all the material for our products are made – hand drawn or hand woven on the weaving chairs. In the handicraft shop you can choose your favorite designs.
Sewing Unit & Office Building
The office and sewing unit is just around the corner from the production centre – about 150m. Here you can plan and order your product ideas and designs in our office or visit the women in the sewing unit in the 1st floor. Or come and have a look how the sewing in done.
LankaLIKE Shop @ Aluthgama Market
The LankaLIKE shop is located in Aluthgama, at the market – on the way to the highway. Here you can not just find all of the products, you can also get it your own size. Our custom tailor lady will help you to make according to your needs. Have a look, while at the market !
